I Heart Shopping (On and For Etsy)
I went a little shop happy at Michael's clearance yesterday! I spent about $150 but got ALL THIS! (Okay I had some of that ribbon already, and a few of the flowers too).
I reorganized my craft closet a bit to fit in a good amount of my overflow. I got rid of about a box full of SU catalogs and forms (since I don't think I will be restarting that business). You can see pics of the before stash here. It looks much prettier now :).
I am fully determined to get my Etsy shop up and running before Christmas this year! (I know I have said that many times, but this time I have a plan!) Any good shop name ideas incorporating my nickname?
I plan on carrying some pretty jewelry, hand stamped notecards and greeting cards, custom capes and tutu's (like this one - too bad she couldn't stop twirling long enough for me to get a good shot), custom diapercakes, notecards, hairclips, burpcloths and bibs, and maybe some felt toys once I come up with some patterns of my own.
I also plan on selling some crafting supplies I make with my Sizzex Bigshot and my Xyron.
Ooo and I just got a great idea from Penelope's Oasis for something I might be able to make. I really want to use what I have to make a little spending cash.
I bought a couple of shoe clips on the creative seed's Etsy to make these gorgeous pieces tuted by Mrs.Priss (I love the posey ones at the end of the post!)
How have you other Etsy mom-prenuars fared lately? Do you find that having a varied inventory is good or is it better to stick with one type of inventory? I have so much stuff and I feel like I need to use it all!

The Hive
Went to visit our new Sunday meeting space today and it is so awesome! It's really hip and the owner (?) Brandon was really cool about Cohen coming in with Becky and I... There was a news crew there interviewing people about co-working and we took "hip" pictures for the Midtown website :). I am really excited for the chance to go in with Becky during the week. I am going to start working on generating some funds for Midtown. I am taking up a challenge to get our tithe matched through some sponsors... Since the community we are reaching out to is filled with artists, students, and a lot of other people who tend not to make much money, the incoming tithe is pretty meager... Becky and I spoke about starting a Community Etsy to rasie some funds, which I really like the idea of since the thought of starting an Etsy and supplying it only with items I make is daunting. I did volunteer to take on the responsibility of managing it and shipping stuff... Hopefully that will start soon :) Exciting stuff!

Pregnancy, Parties, and Etsy...
Well, I'm back from LA and I had a good time. Mom's 50th B-Day Hawaiian Luau was a hit and I learned a lot about organization! Spent half the day at Disneyland trying not to puke by hanging out in the air conditioned Innoventions building (found a really comfy leather chair and snoozed for a bit)... I also learned way more than I thought I would about toddlers! I guess it was good practice, but they were not easy when I am as tired as I am... Tomorrow marks the first day of my second trimester... It seems to be going by really fast... I still can't eat a whole lot without running to the bathroom and it makes me think that I am going to have a girl... "The Book" says that a lot of women pregnant with a baby boy eat like a teenage boy... Definately not having that problem... I can barely keep down two or three snack size meals a day, if I try to eat more or eat fast, I gt sick real quick... I have no energy and I have no regulation of my body temp... I am either freezing or burning up all the time... I guess I didn't think those things through too well before I started trying :)... But I know that it will all be worth it in the end...
On a random note: I think I decided that I would like to start the leg work of building a party planning business while I am pregnant (since I don't think there is much else I can do right now)... I'm talking the networking part (because we know people don't exactly have the cash right now to hire someone to throw a party for them)... I also might start throwing some party packages together to sell on Etsy; like coordinating invites, thank you cards, favors, and decorations... I did just buy a truckload of Stampin' Up stuff and I don't know how much money I will make JUST selling the products... I should use it to sell some handmade items too... What do you all think? How is the Mom-prenuar industry right now? Are ya'll making any money on your Etsy sites?
I did find one person that I am going to try to network with today... I think her name is Mandy and she makes some FANTASTIC cakes... Check out this Twilight cake... I think I'm in love ::swoon::

Crafty Lady
So since I cannot seem to find a stable job in this economy that I am good at or will pay me what I am worth, I am launching my own business... I have been thinking about this for ages and now is finally the time... I am signing up to be a Stampin' Up demonstrator next week so this blog may have a new addition coming :)... I am also going to launch my Etsy site within the month so I will have link ups to it here as well... I will probably start a crafting wing of my blog and post what projects I am working on there... I just talked to my Aunt and she is giving me my Grandmother's sewing machine! I have to have it repaired, but hopefully my dad can figure out what is wrong with it (he has fixed this machine many a time for my Nana in the past) and make it work before I head down there in April for my mom's birthday... I am super excited... And to gain some start up revenue I have been cleaning my friends parent's houses :)... Not my favorite thing to do, but it's gotta get done and if I can get paid to d it then I am all for it (it also made me realizze how lazy I was being with my apartment, and now it is spic and span and being upkept well according to FLYlady procedures)...
